6: Loose Wheels on Arbors,
Levers and Lifters, Instructor to Demonstrate Reversing a Worn Wheel on Arbor,
Count Time Train Teeth, Final Movement Assembly
Note:
Bring your workshop movement
Materials needed (minimum):
Safety
glasses or safety goggles (no exceptions
please)
Household two position slip
joint pliers
Small hammer (brass faced)
Small staking block or anvil
Sidecutter pliers
Flat blade screwdrivers (one
with 1/8 wide tip, one with ¼ wide tip)
Workmat (e.g. carpet remnant,
carpet padding)
Notebook, pen / pencils (to
make a sketch of the layout of the gears)
Sharpie black pen (fine tip)
We
will provide:
Bench lathe
Milling machine
Wheels and arbors on which you
will practice
Pivot burnishing tool
Polishing paste
Arbor Press / Staking set
Cutting and smoothing broaches
Jewelers files, smooth jaw
pliers
Vice
Compressed air source
Stuff
you might forget

Workshops
will be held at the Community Room, Senior Health Center, 58 Baribeau Drive,
Brunswick, Maine.
When
you arrive, use the Main Entrance (there is a traffic circle in front of it).
Go straight down the corridor and
make a left at the end. The
Community Room is the first door on the Right.

If headed North on US-1:
At
the end of the Brunswick Strip, about 87 US-1, turn right onto Stanwood Street
for 0.4 miles. Turn right onto McKeen Street for 0.2 miles.
Turn left onto Baribeau Drive for 0.5 miles Turn left into the Senior
Center #58.
If
headed South on US-1:
When
you come to the light at the end of the Brunswick Strip continue straight onto
Stanwood Street for 0.4 miles. Turn right onto McKeen Street for 0.2 miles.
Turn left onto Baribeau Drive for 0.5 miles Turn left into the Senior
Center #58.
