Chapter 89 enjoyed an adjoining room just off the dining room area of Willowbrook Sandwich Shoppe.  In all, sixteen members and spouses brought clocks of every description for the exhibit.  Mark Beever, Ben Crosby and Ern Grover conducted Field Suitcase Workshop F101-2 for nine members of Chapter 89.

I would estimate that we had perhaps fifteen visitors who dropped by to see our clock exhibit.  Although the weather was “simply Purfick”, Willowbrook Museum Village had to compete against the ever-popular Acton Fair, a mere 15 miles away.

Still, our eager students diligently worked at safely working on their clock movements.

Jay Wilkie: “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can …”

Chapter 89 Education Chairman Ben Crosby and his wife Trudy set up “Kid’s Korner” by the doorway and acted as our hospitality committee.  Several visitors had questions about clocks in general and expressed an interest in the variety of clock Chapter 89 had on display.

We broke for lunch around 12:30 and enjoyed some awesome sandwiches and ice cream at the Sandwich Shoppe.  By 3:30 we’d met our objectives with respect to the workshop.

Participants in the workshop: Bruce Delugo, Paul Fournier, Gerry Haviland, Gene Sagerman, Warner Vaughn, John Vickery, Jay and Christine Wilkie, Wally Williams and Mark Beever, Ern Grover and Ben Crosby as workshop instructors.  A special “Thank You” goes to Trudy Crosby, Sharon Beever and Kathie Delugo for their generous assistance to make the exhibit a success.

Mark Beever shares a tip with Bruce DeLugo.

Our display was open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., after which time we adjourned and headed back to the hills.
