Established April 27, 1969

“Maine Chapter 89, NAWCC”

Chartered October 26, 1975

Signatories

 E. Hushman, NAWCC President and W.D. Bundens M.D., NAWCC Vice President

2007 Officers and Directors

President:

Paul

Fournier

NAWCC #163683

Chapter 89 #277

I have been in Maine since 1968, mostly in Saco, when my parents moved us there from New Jersey.  Joanne and I have been married since 1982.  We moved from Saco to Scarborough in 2001. We have two daughters, three granddaughters, and a brand new grandson. I work as a Semiconductor Device Physics Engineer at Fairchild, and have been there since 1980.
Weather instruments and clocks have long been an attraction for me, but this didn't really get serious until a couple of years ago.  I have a fair sized collection of early-mid 1900's weather instruments, and most of my clocks are in the 1880 - 1930 time frame.

First Vice President:

 Nan Vance

NAWCC #159379

Chapter 89 #281

Nan and husband Tom hail from Bristol, Maine, where she has a year-round antique shop called “Good Old Things." Nan finds truth in the philosophy that you get a lot more back from things when you give something to them.

Second Vice President:

David Smith

NAWCC #25487

Chapter 89 #239

Secretary:

Kathi Smith

NAWCC #153267

Michael Gentile

NAWCC #165408

Chapter 89 #283

Treasurer:

Tom Vance

NAWCC #159378              Chapter 89 #249

Tom repairs, buys and sells clocks in conjunction with Nan's antique shop in Bristol.  He could not refuse being pressed into service, because "the strength of Chapter 89 comes from member participation".

Assistant

Treasurer:

Bob Laird

Cal Morgan FNAWCC #05723 Chapter 89 #006

Cal & Natalie (or is it Sharon, Madeline or Susie?) Morgan come to us from Coastal Maine.  Cal generally flips out a “cue card” at meetings during introductions, just to be sure he gets Natalie’s name right.  Cal always has a way of embarrassing her.  He’s probably seen more planes landing in his back yard than the flight deck of the Enterprise.

A creative individual, he always has something of value to share with the membership from his years of experience as a “Fellow” in the NAWCC.  With membership number “006”, even James Bond is green with envy.

Jim Bryant FNAWCC

#08931 Chapter 89 #011

Jim Bryant, still married to his first wife Margaret for nearly 50 years, is known as “The Hurdy-Gurdy Man” all over the Northeast for the past fifteen years, after retiring from being a Steamfitter Controls Technician amongst many other trades.

Always a favorite, we can always count on Jim Bryant to share some memorable moments of the beginnings of Chapter 89.  Once in a while Jim what’s been happenin' back at 'Shuy Connah', and a few teasers about “bein' a clock-fixah and collectah.”
